A Hagyományos Konzol Edition a 4J Studios által fejlesztett majdnem egyforma Minecraft kiadásokra vonatkozik; az alábbiakra:
- Xbox 360
- Xbox One
- PlayStation 3
- PlayStation 4
- PlayStation Vita
- Wii U
- Nintendo Switch
Ezelőtt a wikin egyszerűen csak „Konzol Edition"-ként hivatkoztunk ezekre a kiadásokra, de a Better Together Update kiadásakor néhány az előző platformok közül is megkapta a Bedrock Editiont. (És a New Nintendo 3DS Editiont nem sokkal ezután adták ki, ami szintén konzol platformon fut, de nem ugyanazon a kódbázison alapul, mint a Hagyományos Konzol Edition.) Mivel már nem foglalja össze az összes konzol kiadást, ezért ezt a fogalmat már nem használjuk. Minden kiadása a Hagyományos Konzol Editionnek frissítve lesz egész addig, amíg ez kivitelezhető.
A Hagyományos Konzol Editionben több új funkció is van, mint például egy egyszerűbb barkácsolás rendszer, egy játékbeli útmutató és osztott képernyős többjátékos mód (kivéve a PlayStation Vita Editionön, valamint online többjátékost is, amihez PlayStation Plus (csak PS4), Xbox Live Gold, Nintendo Network (csak Wii U) vagy Nintendo Switch Online feliratkozás szükséges. Mint minden más kiadásnál, a frissítések itt is ingyenesek.
2017. szeptember 20-án az Xbox One Editiont visszavonták a Microsoft Áruházból, azzal együtt, hogy megjelent a Bedrock Edition Better Together Update-ja. Az emberek, akiknek megvolt ez a kiadás, azok ingyen megkapták a Minecraft Bedrock Editiont, valamint a meglévő világaik és a megvásárolt DLC-ik is megmaradnak. A Bedrock Engine-nel játszhatnak együtt és a Minecraft más kiadásaival is, melyek ezt használjál. De mindeközben még a Hagyományos Konzol Editiont is játszhatják. Ugyanez megtörtént a Nintendo Switch Editionnel is 2018 június 21-én.[15] Ahhoz, hogy egy világot az Xbox 360 Editionről átvigyünk a Bedrock Editionre, át kell mennie az Xbox One Editionön, mert nem volt hivatalos bejelentése közvetlen
On September 20, 2017, Xbox One Edition was withdrawn from the Microsoft Store, in conjunction with the Bedrock Edition's Better Together Update. People who own it will be entitled to download the new Bedrock Edition of Minecraft for free, and their worlds and most purchased DLC will transfer to the new edition. With the Bedrock Engine, they have cross-play with each other as well as the other editions of Minecraft that use it. At the same time, they can continue to play Legacy Console Edition. This also happened with Nintendo Switch Edition on June 21, 2018.[16] To transfer a world from Xbox 360 Edition to Bedrock Edition, it still has to go through the original Xbox One Edition because there has been no announcement of direct transfer functionality between the two versions.
Initially, Xbox One Edition was planned to no longer receive updates, starting with the lack of an equivalent update to TU58, but the edition later received CU50, an update adding the MINECON Earth Skin Pack, and later updates resumed entirely with CU51, an update equivalent to TU60 which also added all the features from TU58.
On May 3rd 2018, Mojang officially announced that most Legacy Console editions will be getting the Update Aquatic, but will receive no further feature updates after its release. The Xbox One and Nintendo Switch Editions are excluded because the Update Aquatic features will be available to them in the Bedrock Edition, which they can obtain for free. There was no mention of future updates for bug fixes on any platform, but the PlayStation 4 Edition will still be updated.[17]
